Last Major Overhaul & Recent Engine Repairs

  • The last major overhaul was done in September 2012 by Daytona Aircraft Services. At that time, the crankshaft, camshaft, connecting rods and mags were inspected and repaired, the crankcase, fuel system and cylinders were overhauled, and all steel parts were magnafluxed. The oil pump was repaired by Divco.
  • Then in August 2015 (about 147 hours since overhaul), the engine case was found to be cracked. Daytona removed and disassembled the engine, sent the case to Divco for repair, but it was deemed non-repairable. They then reassembled the engine with a serviceable 7th stud case, installed new main bearings, gaskets and seals and reinstalled the engine. There’s an 8130 for the new case. They also installed a new starter vibrator and the D’Shannon baffle system at that time.
  • The current owner later found low compressions due to large ring gaps, so in 2024 he installed new cylinders and pistons (top end overhaul), followed by a very thorough annual in 2025.
    • Documented w/ 8130’s
  • Last Annual – June 2025
    • Extensive recent annual inspection completed with all ADs current. Work included: new static wicks, corrosion protection, new Whelen strobe lighting, new throttle warning switches, brake linings replaced, new A/C blower motor, gear system serviced and cycled, squat switches tested and landing gear serviced with Mobil 636/nitrogen/grease. All new McFarlane engine control cables (throttle, mixture, prop) installed, master cylinder and parking brake valve overhauled, new gas cap seals, ELT tested, battery replaced and all gear/brakes serviced with MIL-5606 fluid. Prop inspected, dressed and found airworthy.

Let's Talk

We believe aircraft transactions shouldn’t feel mysterious, slow or overly complicated. Whether you’re upgrading, downsizing or buying your first plane, the process should be:

  • Transparent – no vague numbers or hidden deals.
  • Trustworthy – built on real relationships, not pressure tactics.
  • Tailored – customized to your mission and budget.

We help aircraft owners take the guesswork out of selling.
